Destinations : Cochin - Periyar - Kumarakom - Mararikulam - Cochin
Day 01 - Arrive Cochin:
Upon arrival in Cochin, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to the Casino Hotel at Willingdon Island. Check in to the hotel and relax. Enjoy a Harbour cruise later that evening. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Cochin:
After an early breakfast visit Cochin Spice and Fish market. Mid-afternoon, after lunch, get an introduction to Indian Cooking by expert chef followed by demonstration and hands on experience at cooking various Indian Seafood Delicacies. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 - Cochin to Periyar:
After breakfast, we drive to Periyar, a beautiful stretch of road meandering through tea gardens, rubber estates and spice plantations, in the shade of the Cardamom hills. On arrival we check in at Spice Village, Thekkaddy. Late in the afternoon, enjoy exciting boat safari in the Periyar Lake inside the Periyar National Park. If you are lucky you might spot a few wild residents of the park. In the evening return to the village for a live demonstration on cooking with traditional Kerala spices.
Day 04 - Periyar:
After breakfast, you will be taken on a walking tour of the Spice Village Resort accompanied by the Hotel Staff. On this walking tour get introduced to traditional Spices that grow inside the village. You can actually see how spices grow in their natural habitat. Later that day learn a few simple and easy recipes of Kerala Dishes.
Day 05 - Periyar to Kumarakom :
After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom on the banks of Lake Vembanad, the focal point of the Kerala backwaters. On reaching Kumarakom hop on to a boat and sail for Coconut Lagoon, an eco-friendly resort created out of Old Kerala homes called - Tharavadu. Experience a demonstration on "Conquering the Coconut" from plucking, de-husking, breaking, grating & finally using the grated coconut. In the late afternoon enjoy sunset cruise on a Rice Boat- a local form narrow boat. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 06 - Kumarakom:
After breakfast, enjoy a morning cruise to visit a farm and if lucky, watch the locals fishermen in action. After lunch id get live, hands-on, lessons on preparing Kerala Seafood dishes. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 - Kumarakom to Mararikulam:
After breakfast boat transfer across Vembanad Lake to Puthenangadi and then drive to Marari Beach. Spend the day at leisure at the hotel or sunbathe or have a swim at the beach.
Day 08 - Mararikulam to Cochin departure:
Its farewell time. Drive to airport and assist you with all check-in formalities and leave you for your journey t your onward destination.
