Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
Upon arrival in Cochin, you will be welcomed by a Hotels Kerala India representative who will facilitate your transfer to a hotel and brief you about your tour to Kerala, India. Relax for some time and set out on a delightful Harbour cruise before dinner. Stay overnight at your hotel in Cochin.
Day 2: Cochin
Indulge in a full day sightseeing tour of Cochin after breakfast. Visit some of its most important attractions like the Jewish Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets, Cochin Fort and the like. Attend a Kathakali show in the evening before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Cochin – Mararikulam
Drive to Mararikulam on day 3 of the Kerala Culinary Tour. Check into a hotel on arrival and spend the remaining part of the day at leisure. You can also visit the beach or opt for a relaxed time at the hotel. Stay overnight at Mararikulam in Kerala, India.
Day 4: Mararikulam – Kumarakom
As part of the Kerala Culinary Tour, drive to Kumarakom on the banks of Lake Vembanad. On reaching Kumarakom, hop on to a boat and sail for the Coconut Lagoon, an eco-friendly resort created out of Old Kerala homes called - Tharavadu. Experience a demonstration on "Conquering the Coconut" from plucking, de-husking, breaking, grating & finally using the grated coconut. In the late afternoon enjoy a sunset cruise on a Rice Boat - a local form narrow boat. You will stay overnight at the resort.
Day 5: Kumarakom
Enjoy a relaxed day in Kumarakom indulging in any activity of your choice. You can also visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary besides some of the nearby attractions. Return for an overnight stay at the hotel in Kumarakom, Kerala.
Day 6: Kumarakom - Periyar
On day 6 of your tour to Kerala, enjoy a morning drive to Periyar and check in at the Spice Village, Thekkady on arrival. Late in the afternoon, enjoy exciting boat safari in the Periyar Lake inside the Periyar National Park. If you are lucky you might spot a few wild residents of the park. In the evening return to the village for a live demonstration on cooking with traditional Kerala spices, an interesting thing to do during a travel to Kerala.
Day 7: Periyar
After breakfast, you will be taken on a walking tour of the Spice Village Resort accompanied by the Hotel Staff. On this walking tour get introduced to traditional Spices that grow inside the village. You can actually see how spices grow in their natural habitat. Later that day learn a few simple and easy recipes of Kerala Dishes.
Day 8: Periyar – Cochin
A Hotels Kerala India representative will drive you to the Cochin airport and assist you with all check-in formalities for your onward journey. This will signal the end of the Kerala Culinary tour.
