Day 01 - Arrive Mumbai
On arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to the hotel, where the rooms will be held on a ready occupancy basis. After a traditional welcome ceremony with tilak and garlands, check into the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Mumbai
after breakfast enjoy a morning half day tour of the city. Visit the Gateway of India - The stone archway by the sea, designed by Wittett in the 16th century in Gujarati style. Elephanta Caves - 9kms by sea. These 7th century rock-cut temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and situated on an island. These temples are famous for their sculptures. The Trimurthy, Nataraja, Ardhanarishwar are some of the famous sculptures. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 - Mumbai - Trivandrum - Kovalam
Today morning you will be transferred to hotel to board the connecting flight to Trivandrum. On arrival at Trivandrum get transferred to the hotel. After check in formalities, enjoy your day at leisure. Frolic in the beach, sunbathe to get an enviable tan or give your breaststrokes the much needed practice in the clear waters of the Arabian Sea. Kovalam has quite a few ayurvedic spas.
Get a rejuvenating and body toning massage from a spa of your choice. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 - Kovalam - Cape Comorin - Kovalam
An after breakfast morning drive will take us to Cape Comorin also known as Kanyakumari- the southern tip of India. Visit Padmanabhapuram Palace and the Archaeological museum. In the afternoon we drive back to Kovalam and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 05 - Kovalam - Varkala
After an early breakfast we will proceed towards Varkala - one of the most unspoilt and virgin beach resort in Kerala. Varkala popularly known as Papanasam meaning the place to wash away one's sins is also an important local pilgrimage spot. The Janardana Swamy Temple is quite a crowd puller. You also have the option of trying some traditional ayurvedic body therapies here. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 - Varkala - Kumarakom
After breakfast we drive to Kumarakom by speedboat or a luxury cruiser from Varkala. Kumarakom is the backwater country by the Vembanad Lake, and pretty much the focal point of the Kerala backwaters. Let the fresh moist breeze and the chirping of birds seep in to your being and relax.
Day 07 - Kumarakom
Enjoy a boat ride into the countryside through the tranquil waters of the Kerala backwaters. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is home to a host of migratory birds like the Siberian stork, egret, teal, heron and many more. Foe a shot of adrenalin, you can indulge in water sports such as Wind Sailing and Water Skiing. A ride on a canoe or a country boat can also be very exciting. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 08 - Kumarakom - Thekkady
Getting to Periyar is as sublime as the destination itself. The road to Periyar meanders through lush cardamom hills, gurgling rivulets and rustic trekking trails. On arrival at Periyar check into the hotel, get changed, freshen up and relax. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 09 - Thekkady
After breakfast we venture into the Periyar National Park. If you are fortunate you might as well spot a tiger in its natural habitat. Trekking with a local guide familiarizes you to the rare birds, and the local vegetation. Trekking through spice plantations with the accompaniment of the heady fragrance of spices is a lifetime experience. A boat safari on the Periyar Lake preferably at dusk extends a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife in its natural habitat - like the eccentric bathing habits of the wild elephants and other big and small sport that come down to the lake to drink from it. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 - Thekkady - Munnar
In the morning, head towards the green hills of Munnar a "nature lover's paradise". With its verdant tea plantations extending up to the horizon, Munnar is a quiet hideaway tucked in among the Western Ghats. Winding lanes filled with the heady fragrance of fresh tea, and the mischievous mists playing hide and seek with you 1800m above the sea level is what you get at Munnar. On arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11 - Munnar
Munnar has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi - which towers over 2695m. A rich assortment of wild life such as the rare Nilgiri Tahr, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar, Gaur and the lion tailed Macaque enrich the surrounding forests. Devikulam - This serene hill township is a nature lover's retreat. Trout fishing on the Devikulam lake has come up as a major attraction. The Eravikulam National park is the best place to see the rare Nilgiri tahr, the mountain goat of South India. Munnar is also the only place where the Neelakurunji, a flower that blooms once every twelve years can be found. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 - Munnar - Cochin
Today morning drive to Cochin. On arrival in the "Queen Of The Arabian Sea" check into the hotel. Afternoon, free to relax. In the evening enjoy a Kathakali dance performance. Kathakali is renowned through out the world for its harmonious blending of poetry, music, costumes and gestures in a narration of stories from the Indian Epics. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 - Cochin
After breakfast we drive to Cochin and set about exploring the city covering: Jewish Synagogue - Built in 1568 the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth stands, the interiors of which are adorned with hundreds of exquisite hand - painted Chinese tiles in blue & white. St. Francis church the oldest European church in India was originally, built out of wood in 1503. Vasco de Gama was buried there. Also visit the Dutch Palace that bears testimony to the Dutch legacy that takes up a significant part of Cochin's past. As you climb its stone steps, you enter a different world of Palanquins and heraldry, jewels and rich murals. A walk down the cobbled streets will give you a feel of the past. Enjoy dinner at hotel and spend your last night at Cochin.
Day 14 - Cochin - Mumbai
in the morning you will be transferred to the airport to board the flight to Mumbai. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel for you to wash and change. After dinner, you will get transferred to the International Airport for your onward destination or flight back home.
