Jewish Synagogue:
Considered to be the oldest synagogue in Asia built in 1568 for the Jewish Population it is now a popular tourist attraction. The Jews have left India but only 17 Jews are left who still protect this monument in Mattancherry in Cochin. Visit the Jewish Synagogue and meet the Jews who still are living in Cochin.
St Francis Church:
It is a Portuguese church which is considered to be the first church built in India. Vasco da Gama was laid to rest at this church in Cochin.
Chinese fishing nets:
These are huge fishing nets which are used by the fishermen in Kerala. These cob webbed structures hanging from bamboo poles form an excellent silhouette cast against the crimson sky.
The beautiful port of Cochin is visited by tourists from world over. The evenings in Cochin with the starry night sky and the glimmering lights of the ships cast against the dark Kerala sky is a wonderful sight.
